Turntable Automatic Stretch Wrapper

With a maximum turntable speed of 16 RPM, Orion's FA-44 is an excellent choice for medium to high production level applications. The FA-44 handles loads weighing up to 5,000 pounds and features Orion's "open" mechanical design, 100% structural steel construction, and ring bearing turntable support with a chain and sprocket drive.

Film tail cut & wipe down

Simple, yet highly effective describes the unique film tail treatment system on the FA-44. Orion's innovative asymmetrical film clamp grips the film web while the pneumatic thermo bar cuts the film. Then a load seeking pneumatically actuated brush smoothes and secures the film tail to the side of the load as it is conveyed to the exit conveyor. The result is an attractive, secure film tail that stays in place using a minimal amount of film.

Allen Bradley controller / VFD drives

The FA-44 uses the Allen Bradley / Series PLC controller for maximum flexibility and reliability. Low maintenance, long lasting AC motors are used throughout the FA-44 thanks to advanced Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) controllers. One look inside the FA-44 controller shows the pride of craftsmanship that goes in to each and every Orion stretch wrapping system.

Turntable ring bearing support

The turntable on the FA-44 is supported by a precision ring bearing and driven by industrial grade ANSI chain. This system has proven itself to be the most efficient and trouble-free method of turntable drive in hundreds of installations worldwide.

Insta-Thread™ film delivery system

The Orion Insta-Thread film delivery system faces the side for easier film roll loading and threading. The system uses specially designed rollers to accurately elongate film at a standard rate of 260%.

This highly reliable prestretch systems features the fastest, easiest and safest film loading on the market, and an advanced "non-contact" film tension sensor for years of trouble-free wrapping.

A sophisticated photo eye senses even difficult colored and reflective loads, and Orion's unique Insta-Sense system pauses the wrap cycle if the stretch film breaks or runs out.
